What's new.

Every release of PDF Workbench for Mac — features, improvements, and fixes. The app updates itself automatically.

  1. v0.1.9 Latest
    2026-06-10
    • Maintenance build: refreshed the auto-update signing key.
  2. v0.1.8
    2026-06-04
    • First public release for Apple Silicon Macs (Intel to follow).
    • One unified, on-demand Export experience across Home, the page editor, the viewer, and right-click — pick an action, choose a folder, done.
    • Right-click any page (grid, list, or viewer) to export it as PDF / PNG / JPEG, rotate, or exclude.
    • Everything stays local to your Mac — your files never leave the device.
    • 14-day trial; activate a license key in Settings → License to keep exporting after it ends.
    • Automatic updates with one-click install.
  3. v0.1.7
    2026-05-31
    • After saving or exporting from the home screen, a Show in Finder button now lets you jump straight to the output folder.
    • Compress PDF now shows how much smaller the result is (e.g. "23% smaller"). If the file was already optimised, the result screen says so instead.
    • Fix exported PDFs now always have the correct .pdf extension on disk.
    • Fix the app failed to launch on some Macs due to missing system libraries. Those libraries are now bundled inside the app.
    • Fix Compress and Merge could fail with an internal error on certain PDFs.
    • License key activation is now available in Settings → License. Paste your key to keep exporting after the trial ends.
  4. v0.1.6
    2026-05-30
    • Fix when a newer update appeared while one was already downloaded, installing could fail and force a confusing re-download. The right version now installs cleanly.
    • Fix double-clicking the title bar now reliably zooms the window (it previously only worked near the window edges).
    • The app now opens at a more compact default size (860×600); your window size is still remembered between launches once you resize it.
  5. v0.1.5
    2026-05-30
    • Updates now relaunch into the new version automatically after installing.
  6. v0.1.4
    2026-05-29
    • Fix automatic updates could download but failed to install.
    • A downloaded update now survives quitting the app, so it doesn't re-download.
  7. v0.1.3
    2026-05-29
    • Update-install reliability testing.
  8. v0.1.2
    2026-05-29
    • Clearer error messages if an update can't finish installing.
  9. v0.1.1
    2026-05-29
    • Software updates are easier to find — Settings → License & Updates — and now always show your current version.
    • More reliable update downloads.
  10. v0.1.0
    2026-05-29

Initial macOS release (Intel + Apple Silicon).

    • Organize, combine, rotate, and reorder pages, then export as one PDF or many.
    • Local-first: your files never leave your Mac.
    • 7-day trial; exporting stays enabled during the trial.
    • Automatic updates with one-click install.
