Terms of Service
Last updated June 7, 2026
These Terms govern your use of PDF Workbench, including the free browser app and the paid Mac application (the “Service”). PDF Workbench is operated by an independent developer based in Cambodia, reachable at support@pdfworkbench.app. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service
The browser app is free to use. The Mac app is available as a direct download from us. Both process your files locally on your device.
License
When you buy a license, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the Mac app, subject to these Terms. One license may be activated on up to 2 computers that you own or control. Your purchase includes free updates within the current major version (v1.x). Future major versions may be offered as a separate purchase.
What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or share your license key with others.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent the law expressly permits.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Circumvent license activation or device limits, or remove proprietary notices.
Payment
Purchases are processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), acting as the merchant of record. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Polar. Prices are shown in USD.
Trial
The Mac app may offer a time-limited trial that starts when you first open the app — no account or payment required. When the trial ends, a license is required to continue exporting.
Refunds
Purchases are covered by our Refund Policy — a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Your content
You retain all rights to the files you process. Because processing happens on your device, we do not access or claim any rights over your content.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its software and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a license to use it, not ownership of it.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Always keep backups of important files.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Cambodia, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
